Full Version: Winamp Plugin To Send Text-file To Browser
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Hydrogenaudio Forum > General Audio
Jan S.
Hi, yet another request for some gifted programmer with too much time. smile.gif

My idea is to send, when example.mp3 is playing, example.mp3.txt (or whatever format) to the winamp minibrowser (or the plugin's own window) and let it show the content.

You could of course put whatever you want in this file but my idea was that you could but all info in there you want instead of having huge tags. You could use a html page and show cover and everything you want.
You could then use basic tags for sharing and have the info in the seperate file where it can do no harm. I think it would be cool for all us tag freaks.
What do you think?
Anyone want to do it? And does anyone think it's a good idea at all?

Not a bad idea but...

I think it is easier to make a webserver with active server script like PHP, Perl or ASP.
Combine it with MySQL database. And generate websites on the fly.
The only thing you need now is the httpQ plugin that can communicate between winamp and the webserver.

With this approach the needed software already exist.
Now you have only to program wink.gif.

Da?

That should work in theory, point it to local files

It almost works...
It can't handle dirs with "space" in the path bacause it replace space with +...
Gonna mail the author.

Hmm... didn't try it, but maybe '%20'?

Yes, that would work but you can't set it to use that.

I think QCD has a plug-in to do this for QCD. Might be worth checking it out.
