Hi
Using oggdec.exe, is it possible to start playing an ogg file from a chosen position in the file using the command prompt only? For example "start at frame 1000" or start at 25% ?
Thanks
Is oggdec.exe a player? Maybe you talk about ogg123.exe? With ogg123 you can use switch -k:
CODE
-k n, --skip n
Skip the first ’n’ seconds. ’n’ may also be in minutes:seconds or hours:minutes:seconds form.

I assume we are referring to the oggdec at Rarewares? In which case, yes, it can be used as a player but there is no option to seek within the file, you simply play the whole file. I have to admit that I never considered adding such an option as I only added the simple playback option as a means of providing an inclusive decoder/player.

iGold - Thanks for the info, will have to look into that!
john33 - Yes I was talking about the oggdec at rarewares.org. Is there any change you can add that functionality into oggdec?
THanks

So when you releasing the modified version of oggdec? Just kidding, thanks for considering it though!

Ok that was a silly question as in one of the posts above it said ogg123.exe! exe is normally associated as a windows extension.

Where can I download this from?

I've even found and downloaded the source code, where do I get a compiled win32 binary from?
You can get cygwin port of vorbis-tools at any cygwin repository. For example at
http://ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/windows/cygwin/re...e/vorbis-tools/Also you will need cygwin1.dll, it can be downloaded from "cygwin"
subdir of "release" tree.
After downloading this package I've found many library dependencies of ogg123.exe but all of them can be resolved with another cygwin packages (if you still interesting).

tar.bz2 is for linux only isnt it?
No, it's just compression algo, nothing linux specific.
