Most people have their Foobar set up with some effort.

This has no doubt been asked before, but is there a way to keep a copy of your Foobar in case you have to do a system restore.

Currently I have my Foobar folder copied and my fcs file. Could you just install a fresh Foobar then swap the copied program file with the new one?

The foobar2000 configuration is stored at %APPDATA%\foobar2000 if you have user-profiles enabled. %APPDATA% is usually a hidden directory at
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\

Sweet, I found it. biggrin.gif

So what do I copy, the entire Foobar2000 file or the cfg file. Also after a system recovery do you just replace the hidden file with your copied one?

edit - Thanks for your help.

Copy everything. Everything, everything. eg. all foobar2000 folders.

might be easier to just save the .cfg in the foobar folder, (remove the txt/empty file that has per-user-settings in the name), and just back the whole folder up.. that way you won't need to do anything after a reinstall, in stead of first finding all the plugins you used before again.

The plugins would just be a case of replacing the components folder surely?

Sorry if this is going over stuff, but I want to be 110% sure. I think my recovery system of my PC might store a lot of stuff like this, it automatically partions over 4GBs, but I wouldn't risk it.

So I'd just copy my old .cfg file in the new hidden Foobar file and delete the .txt(its called 'error' at the moment.) So what does the .cfg file contain?

i just copy the foobar folder. it's not that big, really.

I reccomend always running foobar with per-user settings disabled, for just this reason.

Disable it, and then whenever you want to back up foobar, just copy the entire folder to your backup disk/drive. This method is foolproof.
