Is speding money addictive? I always am thinking about what I want to buy and I realized how much more peace of mind I would have if I wasn't always thinking about buying stuff I can't afford. It's kinda like a habbit that is really hard to break, has anyone ever broken themselves of this habit?

Spending money IS addictive. Everyone does it, though, and that is how life is run. On the plus side, it's better to spend it thinking of things to buy, than like one of my friends, go to the restaurant 2 times a day and see a movie every three days, all the while not having a job.. ohmy.gif

For me, spending money is addictive as long as I have a sense of security knowing that I will keep getting paid. If I'm unemployed, spending is painful.

Strictly speaking spending money is as addictive as eating.

You pretty much need to do it in order to survive. Spending a little more than just the bare necessities can be fun.

But overspending can be quite painful. :-)

I've met people though who never buy anything for themselves and are perfectly happy with what they have. I wish I could have that kind of dicipline.

Is speding money addictive?

It releases dopamine, therefore its mentally addictive.

However, you could say that about pretty much anything smile.gif

It is also known as "retail therapy." Addictive? Yes, to addictive personalties. We all need to spend. Not all of us spend rationally with a realistic goal in mind. Therein lies the difference. If you spend to change how you feel, you might want to examine your spending. cool.gif

I find spending not addictive. Unless it is spent on food. biggrin.gif
