can anyone help me setup mediawiki on webearce.com.ar, so i can more easilly maintain MAREO's home page?

Well, i was just looking at my account options, and i have available:

PHP-Nuke: Portal/CMS
Gekko: Portal/CMS
PostNuke: Portal/CMS
Xoops: CMS/Weblog
phpWebSite: CMS
Wordpress: Weblog
Mambo CMS + phpShop

any comments on them?

Once it's set up, it's as easy as it gets. Pretty much like posting on HA. I hate web coding, so I used jedi mind tricks on everwicked to install it and do some customizations for me. Then I just did the graphics/design, and voila, it was ready. It's much easier to maintain the site since then.

Though wordpress is more of a blog than a web site if you know what I mean. Then again I have never personally used it and looking you seem to have it working for your software.

Maybe to start off. What do you what the site to do? What pages do you want the site to have. What and how often to you want update things. Are you going to be the only person looking after the site?

For my open soruce project http://rockband.sourceforge.net/ I use drupal http://drupal.org/ and it seems to do what I want farily easily.

that is good ... the good thing, is that i don't have to setup either of this systems, they are free, and pre-configured if i want to. So it's good to know. I also hate web coding, and i really don't fully know it.

thing is, that MAREO is really a hobby for me, and i rather code for it, than maintain the site. It's already a lot of work, doing the documentation. I thought of a wiki, so whenever wanted to contribute, could. I even thought of adding a MAREO documentation under HA's wiki, so anyone can colaborate. All the systems i listed are pre-configured for myself, so i only need to define the things each system allows to, if i don't like the defaults.

Know where you are coming from. I have helped people set up sites before and know picking the right stuff is important and knowing what you want out of the site before you site and what your time commitments are.

I would say try using HA's Wiki for a start if what to just have download link, a howto (which people can add to or write supplemntal ones) and a change log.

thanks for your ideas. Thing is, i only have to choose wich one of the systems i would like, as they are allready setup. I was more or less asking for personal experience with them.
