Well geologically it's part of the North American subcontinent.
Easy to chose a checkbox for me. Born in Paris, lived in France most of my life and currently in England, Europe.
lnternet is great to throw the national barriers down and share all together. Though nobody voted 'Africa' yet... ls Internet too pricey there?

Its not so surprising anymore once one knows where most of the "core" is from. Get on the IRC-channels for just a few days, and you'll understand what i mean. Also, the frapper map which was started a few months ago also painted a similiar picture. However, i also did not expect the margin to be THAT big (so far). Contrary to the irc-channels and the frapper-map, this poll is visible right on the portal-page..... i didn't expect a "visible" poll to still be biased so much towards europe.

Hmmm... I've learnt a lot from posting this poll...
If we ever do a poll like this again, I will surely change it like this:
Where do you currently live?Choose your region:
- Africa
- America - North (incl Mexico)
- America - South
- Asia - East (incl SEAsia)
- Asia - South
- Asia - West (the mid-east)
- Eurasia (ex Soviet Union, Turkey)
- Europe
- Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, Hawai'i)

You'd better propose options like this:
- Americas
- Europe
- CIS region
- Middle East
- Far East
- Africa
- Pacific Rim
BTW, Eurasia is a name of the largest continent which consists of Europe and Asia

I am aware of that. But Turkey is not CIS. And some people from Turkey actually becomes confused whether they should be in Asia or in Europe. Of course, if Turkey joins the EU then the matter is solved.

That's a strange problem with Turkey

. Turkey is a European country (
from Wikipedia):
QUOTE
The Caucasus region, Cyprus, and Turkey, although often grouped into Southwest Asia based upon geographic proximity and continuity, are generally considered culturally and politically European due to their various historic and recent political ties to that region.

Hah! That is not true. The prices here (Slovakia) are most of the time very much different than in, say Austria or Germany. And what sucks most is that they are usually more expensive, even though we have a much lower average income.
And I hate IKEA. It's freakin' huge and women force you to spend hours there.

Hi all, this is my first post. As I'm from Turkey, it was amusing to see people have the same confusion about whether it should be in Europe or in Asia. While we generally think of ourselves as Europeans, some other Europeans seem not to share this view, so I don't know.
I'm voting for Europe not only because I think Turkey should belong to Europe, but also because I'm studying in Karlsruhe, Germany.
