Full Version: Avast "Unable To Scan" Question

I ran my Avast Antivirus last night and in the "log" there were about 1000 entries with the following:

C:\Program Files\Norton SystemWorks\Norton CleanSweep\clnsweep.cfg=>AD_NET.EXE: password protected
C:\Program Files\Norton SystemWorks\Norton CleanSweep\clnsweep.cfg=>ADAPTER.EXE: password protected
C:\Program Files\Norton SystemWorks\Norton CleanSweep\clnsweep.cfg=>ADDDEPTH.EXE: password protected

etc. etc.

When I go to the Norton folder, I find that clnsweep.cfg is a file, not a folder. What are all of these applications and how do I get rid of them, or is this just a "log" of previously deleted temp files?

Thanks
Andavari
Google'd it: clnsweep.cfg

Quick answer (as the Google link, though helpful, is a bit too verbose biggrin.gif) clnsweep.cfg is a password-protected ZIP file, but the extension is changed to .cfg. Avast! (I used it too. It's bunch better than Norton's that I previously used) is smart enough to detect that it's a ZIP file, and attempts to decompress.

OT: How I woe the day I bought Norton SystemWorks sad.gif I barely use it now, only the Norton Protected Recycle Bin... anyone knows a cheaper software that can do the same thing? I already dumped NAV for Avast! and SpeedDisk for Diskeeper.
