Hi,

MP3 plus - What is it?
Is it another standard?
Is it as popular as MP3 itself?
Are MP3 plus codecs available?
Where MP3plus is used?
'MP3plus', 'MP3 Plus' and 'MP3+', are all diffrent?

These may be quite basic question!
But, I didn't find the answer in google.
Can you help me to find the answer?
Thanks.

A trick to make MP3 work well at very low bitrates. Its not very popular, and almost nothing supports it.

This is mp3 PRO not plus. I believe the mp3 plus evolved into MPC musepack later. the mp3 plus was an extension of standard mp3 that solved some mp3 design flaws.

Isn't Musepack originally based off MPEG Layer II, and it was called "MPEG Plus" (not MP3+) at one point then renamed to Musepack?

Andree Buschmann knew the problems in MP3 and he made a new audio format based on mp2 technology and added many techniques like M/S stereo and VBR encoding.

Yes it fixes mp3 flaws but is based on mp2 as Firon said. And it is MPEGplus. MP3 plus is a distributor of digital technology, not an audio format.

MPC/MPEGPlus/MusePack don't solve MP3's flaws, they in fact have almost nothing to do with it. MPC is based on a totally different design.
Firon
I think he meant that MPC's intent was to avoid the same flaws that MP3 had.

I'm pretty sure MP3+ would be MP3 Pro, since AAC+ is AAC w/ SBR. MPC was once refered to as MP+, but not MP3+. Though I suppose its ambigious.
