Guys, i cant fix this.

I have this

I want this

When im playing some album i would like to have a line indicating the album playing.
I created an extra column there and tried some configs but it wont work, maybe its not possible. Can someone enlight me with this ?

Otherwise, how can i simply set a color for the entire column (even if it is dsiplayed for all albums)

Thx.

Unfortunatly, foobar works only on a per-track basis, so you cant make the entire album indicate now playing when only one song from it is playing. (This, consequently, makes for problems in my display when i have a hidden track with the tracknumber 00; I cant "tell" the other songs that the album has a 00 track, therefor i have to work around it in a different way)

As for setting a colour for each album... um... The most I can think of is to set up your extra column as you have it, then, if you include a %totaltracks% tag in each of your mp3s, set it to display a different colour for every album that has a different value of totaltracks. I can think of a few things that can be done, including a random colour for each totaltracks tag, or set it up so the colour indicates, by light/dark contrast, the value of that tag. If you need help with that i'll throw something together for you, otherwise you can play around with it yourself.

Thx Erich, that enlight me alot.
A mate at the IRC told me about the same, i just needed to confirm that.

Too bad, would be nice if we could indicate the entire album playing.
Do you think this will ever be implemented ?

Difficult question.
Foobar will always remain 'track-based'. 'Cross-referencing' files would mean a major slowdown and will therefore probably never be implemented, so a moderator (foosion?) told me once.
Whether a work-around via a third-party plugin is possible in theory, that I don't know.

Anyway, my wishlist is catered for pretty well by the wealth of currently existing plugins. smile.gif

Im not well versed in C++, so I cant exactly sit and code just yet a plugin that would extend the capabilities of the tagscript we have now, but I wish to be able to at one point. Though scross referancing files may be a bit of a slowdown, the database search seems pretty fast, and if there were a way to launch a search and effect each search result as per the tagz command, that would work. Such as, if playing, find in playlist tracks with same album, then execute whatever on all of them. Id personaly like to see that included in the masstagger, so that i dont have to manualy autotrack all my files tongue.gif

Another thing, while im on it, that I would love to see extended in terms of tagz' capabilities, would be the ability to define our own functions. There are certain scripts ive written that I particularly like, but unfortunatly I cant pass more than one argument into them. That, in itself, would open up a few new possibilities for me that i would enjoy.
