Here's the situation. I rip some music, put it into my directory structure. Now I want to sync my media library with it without importing the whole set of directories in, cause that takes ~10 minutes. Is there a quick way to do this? It used to be that I would just add the directories again, and it would only load in data for the files that weren't already in the database. Now, I don't see any way to add directories without foobar reading each and every one of their tags. Help please?

The way I do that is relatively simple, but depends on foobar2000 quite a bit more. I rip my files to one HDD and then load them into foobar to tag them. After I have the tags I want, I use the file moving utility to move the files to my HDD that holds my music. When you do this, as far as I know, foobar2000 automagically adds the files to your media library. I can only assume this is the case, however when I refresh my album list the files are there.

Otherwise, I don't believe there is any way to sync the media library in the way you are talking about. I could be wrong though.

You just have to 'show' fb2k the files and it will add them if they are in your library path. Simply dragging the new folder into the foobar window is sufficient.

Be sure that the path (one folder above) is added to the media libary, e.g. if you have created
you have to have

as music folder in you media library setup.
Then, like david_dl told you, load the new new directories into foobar..
Drag&Drop, playlist_bind, foo_uie_explorer..

I would use foo_playlist_bind, but that's just a matter of taste...

Foo_Playlist_bind is cool. But it is very long to scann all my music. It is longer in 0.9 than in 0.8.3, I don't know why. Three times longer, approximatively.

I really miss the faster scanning in 0.8.3 as well. I use an external HD to sync my music directory from home to work, and rescanning my library at work (~25,000 files) after the directory has been updated takes forever. Does anyone have a faster way to do this?
