I've been going to a junior college for the past two years. The Junior College I goto has a program called the 2+2 program which is the junior colleges have a deal with universities where they accept so and so credits and the way it works out you spend 2 years at that junior college and the last two years at the university for the 4 year degree. My degree is computer science. I went to the university today to figure out what classes I need to take there for the fall semester since I have just finished my first two years(all of my core curriculam classes). Well, come to find out there were classes for my major for the freshman and sophmore levels that my junior college did offer in thier 2+2 program(in which they should of) nor did they even list them. I am so screwed....even though I am a junior it will take me 4 years to get my bachler degree because I have to take some classes in a certin order because they require pre-requesits. I'm about to be 33 years old and I was supposed to be done at 35. Now, I'll be 37. What should I do? I can't double up on those classes because they build on each other...requireing pre-requisits. I don't think it makes much since to get a degree at 37 beacuse the whole point is to get a degree so I can get my foot in the door for a good career and build experience from there. Should I goto ITT tech trade school instead? I haven't checked it out but I am hopeing I could finish it in a year and a half. Would that be better?

I'm from the UK, so your school terminology means little to me. However, it seems like you are the victim of some poor administration, which certainly is frustrating.

I would just ask: why is getting a degree at 37 much different to getting one at 35? I agree that there is ageism in employment, but is two years that big a deal?

Unless you've got some Logan's Run thing going on there in Texas, but I thought that was 30...

Are you sure they really check pre-requisits. If not, it'll be easy (maybe...) to do the pre-requisits simultaneously with some other courses. At least I'm doing some of my course that way biggrin.gif

How old will you be in four years if you do not get the degree? Just do it. cool.gif
