Full Version: Minor gripe about tag updating progress dialog.

I'm loving everything about 0.91 and the latest Columns UI so far.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet; I didn't see anything with a cursory search, but the progress dialog box that pops up when Foobar is updating tags is rather annoying. Especially when it does it once for every track to update the playcount and when updating ratings with quick keys.

It's a minor complaint, but it's rather distracting when I have Foobar playing on a second monitor right in my visual periphery.

I'd like to see either an option for displaying this progress dialog or maybe just not have it display at all when processing less than, say, 5 tracks at a time, since it finishes almost instantly anyway.s

Thanks for continued development on an excellent piece of software to all devs and modders.

Yes this can be a bit annoying. I too would like to see it as optional.

Or what might be ideal is just to have a message appear in the status bar while its tagging (eg, "Writing tags: 40%" etc)

Ditto. This wasn't a problem in 0.8.

Agreed. This occurs on two seperate occasions for me. First would be with use of foo_playcount. The second would be a quick little rating script I use (for setting RATING to 'n' with global hotkeys).

The thing that bugs me about the little window is that it steals focus away from, say, the preferences window when you're typing in it.

I didn't used playcount on 0.8.3, but I did use foo_quicktag (which hasn't been ported), and it did no such thing.
