Hey all,

I've installed the latest foobar and I have to say I love it over 0.8. The only problem I'm having is that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to play an audio CD. I vaguely remember in 0.8 being able to select it in the Components menu, but I see no such thing in 0.9. I've searched the forums but anything relating to playing CDs seems to only refer to 0.8. I tried File-->open then navigating to the CD drive to select all the tracks on the CD but foobar throws up an error "unable to open item for playback...unsupported file format" etc.

I'd greatly appreciate some help with this smile.gif

You need the CDDA decoding plugin.

Hi,

Just did a bit of searching through the forums. I can only find the one that works with 0.8. sad.gif Would you know where I might find the CDDA plugin for 0.9?

Audio formats supported: MP1, MP2, MP3, MP4, MPC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC / Ogg FLAC, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, AU, SND, CDDA.

.cda support is implemented in 0.9. Maybe you didn't affiliate the format with foobar correcly ? [Ctrl+P] -> File types
Have you selected "Set as default audio cd player" ?

I tried draging .cda files from audio cd into foobar and it works fine wink.gif

During the installation, enable "Audio CD support" under optional features.

You should see a menu item File | Open audio CD.

Ahhh, thanks Frank. Just realized I overlooked the option for enabling Audio CD support when I installed. I reinstalled with Audio CD support enabled and it's working just fine now.

Thanks so much for the input guys. Muchly appreciated smile.gif
