suggestion: foo_iu_columns should be added to the default distribution of foobar

Cross-suggestion : beta software potentially still containing bugs should not be added to a final release of a quite stable product.

I disagree. foobar2000 is known for its versatility and low-memory footprint. It's like Firefox. What you get is just a basic browser that works for the average crowd. More advanced users will choose to download extra components. And that's the beauty of it... The freedom to do whatever you want.

one one the most important problem is that musicmusic is very active and publishes quite a lot of versions of his UI columns component. Changing the installer may be annoying both for peter and musicmusic.

Not saying that a new version should be created for each update of UI columns.. if it was already the case, we would be in 5.9.7 biggrin.gif.

UI columns is developed apart from the core of fb2k itself.. It should remain independant. Even if it is more complicated for new users..

partially agree.

I think foo_iu_columns only makes user customize playlist easier.
And without lots of panels, it doesn't consume (much) more resource than default ui, I suppose.

But I totally have no idea on frequently update issue tongue.gif
