I don't know how or why I'm getting these errors all of a sudden. Where can I download updated versions?

foobar is still playing flac files just fine, dispite this error!

foobar 0.9.1

You don't need those file anymore in v0.9.1. The decoder is included in foo_input_std and Converter handles flac encoding.

You can delete those file.

Oh.. I didn't know that. I know when I first installed 0.9.1 they weren't in my components folder... something I installed must have put them there.

Hey I'm a 0.8.3 user. I don't use XP and I don't use 0.9.x. In fact, I can't.

Is there a foo_flac.dll I can use with 0.8.3?

I would like to be able to play flac files w/o having to decode everytime. I can do this with .shn and .la encoded files. Can it be done with .flac files?

If this is impossible in 0.8.3, is there another solution?

I read that WinAmp2 can do it. How big is WinAmp2 and does anyone have a direct URL?

Cheers

AFAIK, some foobar2000 0.8.3 installers include foo_flac.dll in them. i think it was the special version or something similar. i'm not quite sure. of course, i recommend 0.9 over 0.8.3 for a number of reasons. but then again, it's your choice.

edit: also, please don't bump old topics. make a new one instead.

Maybe the flac installer did it. It seems everything's already wrapped up now, so I won't bother finding out if that's the case.

hey i just ended up here after googling "foo_flac.dll" because i was having the same problem as the original poster. i deleted those files and everything works fine. just wanted to second the statement about the flac installer. this all started happening after i re-installed the flac front end. so i just wanted people to know that is what causes the error. just delete the files and everything will be cool.
