How do I play MPC files with foobar2000 v0.8.3? If this is not possible then how for v0.9...

If this is not possible...

Send me a shoulder to cry on.
Masahiko
foobar2000 can read MPC files natively (0.8.3 & 0.9.x versions) :

CODE
Features

    * Audio formats supported: MP1, MP2, MP3, MP4, MPC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC / Ogg FLAC, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, AU, SND, CDDA.

Eck... Sorry for not looking into it more. I checked the component library and didn't see it... Perhaps I overlooked something.

I'm having trouble getting the Diskwriter to work for converting something I have into .MPC. Can you give me a sample command line to use for this? I tried the one that is suggested in the EAC set up page, but you need a "%d" for foobar2000 to work, and I don't know how to do this.
evereux
Did you put the encoder in the foobar2000 directory?

Indeed I did.

It's probably in foo_input_std, together with MP3 and Vorbis support.

You don't need to use a custom string. Both foobar2000 0.8.3 and 0.9 have Musepack presets you can use for easy conversion.

If you're using 0.8.3, click on "Restore default presets".
evereux
I've just tested this in Foobar2000 0.9 beta 2 having put mppenc in the foobar2000 directory and changing nothing else. It worked just fine using the built in preset.
gecko_mayhem
Yay, got it working.

Thanks for the help.

Actually, might need more help.

And unfortunately, evereux, v0.8.3 isn't as nice with the built-in presets.

If you talk vaguely, we can only give you vague help. What's wrong with 0.8.3?

Sorry, I hate people like me in other forums (lol).

Here's the word from foobar's little error-giver:

"ERROR (foo_podclienc) : Unable to execute: "C:\Documents and Settings\Nick Ford\Desktop\mppenc.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\Nick Ford\Desktop\001 02, Endless Summer.mpc" --quality 8 --artist "t" --album "y" --track "m" "C:\DOCUME~1\NICKFO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\foo_pod41.wav"
ERROR (foo_podclienc) : Encoding failed - transcoded file does not exist"

Sorry to be so n00bish.

[EDIT]

Sorry again... ugh, I'm just making stupid mistakes here, I have foobar set up to use the right .exe and whatnot, I'm not sure what the problem is.

--quality 8 - %d
It should be enough. Tags are automatically imported by foobar2000 smile.gif

Tried that...

This is the error I'm getting now:

"INFO (CORE) : location: "file://C:\Documents and Settings\Nick Ford\My Documents\My Downloads\Music\Fennesz (Endless Summer)\02, Endless Summer.flac" (0)
INFO (foo_audioscrobbler) : Seeking detected - not submitting.

What is foo_podclienc? This isn't needed for track conversion. I would get rid of it and try again with the diskwriter and foo_clienc (but it's been a long time since I seriously used 0.8.3).

I decided to just use v0.9 to do the conversions with the built-in presets... Worked fine.

Thanks for the help.
