Has anyone created a Special version for download?
Not at this time, and it is not an option for third parties to do so as it violates the foobar2000 license agreement.
I am sure that such license violations will be taken seriously. Distributing third-party components "officially" with foobar2000 over which Peter and other developers don't have control was the source of much grief and aggravation.
It is now clear that third-party developers are responsible for their components, and allows for foobar2000 releases to be better tested and of higher quality. It also provides a simple "known working" base installation.

So is there a way to add in all the modules that used to be included in the other versions?
Just install the updated or equivalent components.
Edit: Spelling.
