Full Version: Which PDA?

I need a new cellphone. A friend of mine is able to get me a cellphone or PDA for free, and of course I'm considering a PDA with phone capabilities... So, I was wondering what PDA you guys have/recommend.

I had a look at the HP iPaq's and they didn't impress me. Wi-Fi is still 802.11b on all the models I've seen, and it happens to be a priority for me... On the other hand, QTek seems to be huge here in Europe (well, at least in Portugal) and in fact their products look very good feature-wise.

I've also noticed most PDAs use weird Samsung, Intel or Texas Instruments processors. Which is the best? Is Windows Mobile decent at all? Will I be able to synch my stuff with Linux or Mac?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

These are all ARM processors. ARM is a CPU architecture highly optimized for small power consumption.

I will just recommend you don't go with PalmOS PDAs. Palm was a great brand in it heyday, but they couldn't compete with Windows Mobile, and the OS is now being slowly phased out - Palm themselves already started making models running Windows, and the mythical PalmOS 6 is still to be seen running on a commercial device.

Confirmed -- I hate my PALM m130... Don't even use it anymore, and it was a gift.

Get something which has lots of battery power, too.. I don't know if color screens nowdays are still how they were 3-4 years back, but they generally use up more battery power (from my experience)
