My digital recorder makes recording only in WMA which are hard work to edit.

I want to convert them to a more standard format like MP3 and then edit them.

Which application or which codec is a good one to use?

---------------

At present I use Blaze Media Pro. It's editor looks good and in parts is good but can also be too hard to use.

Is the free "MediaCoder" or "WMA to MP3 Converter" any good? as I have all three on my machine.

You are aware that transcoding from a lossy format like WMA to another lossy format like MP3 will result in quality loss, correct? You would be best off converting the files to WAV, then editing those.
