Full Version: Dynamic playlists (again)

I am wondering if I can have foobar compile playlists (and keep them up to date) on basis of personal ratings. I'm thinking of some sort of additional tag here, representing marks to specific songs -- out of which the playlist is to be compiled.

A similar thing might be playlists that keep track of new songs with a genre tag like "Pop", "Indie" etc, and constantly include new songs into existing playlists (corresponding to those tags).

I understand there are two components that might solve the problem:

(1) Extended Playlist Generator: foo_playlistgen_ex (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=20500&hl=). Unfortunately, the download links seem to be out of date...

(2) foo_playlist_tree (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=29435)

Now I'm wondering which of these components (if any) has worked out for you in a similar case, and which you would recommend. Is foo_playlist_tree still having stability issues? And where can I find foo_playlistgen_ex?

Thanks in advance,
TinTin

Does the Autoplaylist component not do what you want?

I didn't know there is such a thing -- upon a quick search, I suppose you mean

http://www.foobar2000.org/components/foo_autoplaylist.zip ?

I will give it a try shortly and come back with the results.

Thanks,

I have just checked Autoplaylist, and I'm completely happy with it. It's just what I've been looking for.

Thanks!
