hello
i have an album (that i didnt encoded) in mp3 files.
one of the songs is not in the corrent lenght in foobar 0.8.3 and foobar 0.9.2 beta 3. the song stops in 1:53 as it shown in foobar.
in any other player (media player classic, WMP, my portable mp3 player) it shows the correct file (3:55) length and plays it.
how come?
i tried to convet it to wav and it still the same.

another thing i forgot: the bitrate is also shown diffrent. in foobar it's 533 (to this file. other files in the album are also diffrent), and in any other player it 256k.

details of the file:
enc_delay = 576
enc_padding = 0
mp3_accurate_length = yes
bitrate = 533
codec = MP3
encoding = lossy
channels = 2
samplerate = 44100
mp3_stereo_mode = stereo
tagtype = id3v2|id3v1
----------
4983599 samples @ 44100Hz
File size: 7 530 496 bytes

thanx.

The reason for the inflated bitrate display is either due to the way that the bitrate for CBR files is calculated, or a corrupted header.

I see that mp3_accurate_length is available. That means that this file has a LAME tag, which I believe is used for length detection as well enabling true gapless playback for MP3 files. Not all players use this information, but foobar2000 does. I will be willing to bet that the information contained in this header is corrupted or invalid.

Does foobar2000's console show any details when loading or playing this file, or when the track 'ends'?

533kbps would only be possible with free-format MP3s. foobar2000 would refuse to play them, AFAIK.

As foobar2000 can play your files, I suppose they're not free-format, just wrongly labeled.

thank you very much!
i fixed the mp3 header using "fix mp3 header" in foobar and now it's working!
finally understand what this button do... wink.gif

thanx!
