Hello friends ...

Im totally new in creating dolby 5.1 surround tracks ... i know Proffessional tools & hardware are required ..
but im having a simple software based start ! ! ! im doin a track for a 3D LOGO for film production & it need to be done in dolby 5.1 .... what i acomplished is quite good with Acid 5.0 - cool edit 2.1 - Vegas 6 so far ... the tracks sounds great & all as a Project Preview ... now when i reneder as AC3 the Levels change & it sounds calm - high frequencies are being lowered down ! can some one plz tell me what the problem ? i gatta 5.1 creative SB live & a 6 speaker system ... " how do u messure levels ? based on what ? whats the concept ? it all sounds good until i render !

abother issue is that when i mute the LFE channel it still gives a little bass sound with any sound playin - EX: if i pan a bass drum to the full 100% rear left channel while mutting the LFE - the SUB " LFE" still gives an ambient bass sound to that bass drum sound ! so is there anythin i should know regarding LFE ? should it give a sound wether its muted or not ? or is it a bug in my softwares ? soundcard ?

for those who reply - i salute u bigtime & appreciate it alot . thnx

- i dont know what encoder you used, but they say (they say) that the ac3 encoders based on ffmpeg are bad, i suggest to get a copy of some comercial encoder, good old softencode should do the trick relatively easily.

- dolby.com has lots of whitepapers on how to do the stuff properly and what are the meanings of different things.

- about LFE, afaik the default decoder behaviour is to make its own LFE if no actual LFE track is present.
