I have most of my music sitting on one computer at home, and some of the other computers in my house hit those files over the network so there isn't a bunch of redundant storage.

But (apparently) starting with 0.9.2 beta 3 foobar will no longer play any files over the network.

It doesn't matter how I do it... I can use add file and navigate to the network drive from there. Or I can first navigate to the network drive and drop it on the playlist. In both cases, the tags are read etc, but when I try to actually play it, the console says that the file couldn't be opened for playback.

If I copy the file across the network to my local machine and then play it, it works just fine.
If I switch back to beta2 it works just fine.

(on an unrelated note, this network situation is one of my reasons for disliking the decision to not put tags in the database when they can't be put to the file-sometimes I want to tweak something but the file is read-only. A more compelling reason is that I get phone messages sent as wav(ulaw) attachments at work, and would just love to replaygain them before I try to listen to them since they are so dang quiet. Anyway.)

Edit: Actually the music is not shared on a mapped network drive, just on a normal share, so the urls are of the form \\blahblah\e (ed)\music. I just wanted to correct my statement so they weren't decieving.

Try mapping the drive, it works for me.

It's working fine for me (without mapping any drives.)

Please redownload beta 3 installer, this was fixed a few hours after initial version was uploaded.

Ah, that's fixed it. Thanks.
