I'm running an older sound blaster 5.1 live! card. its old. I know.

I recently bought a set of logitech x-530s.

the problem that I have is not that my bass doesn't hit hard enough.
its just that its not crisp and succinct enough.
I don't care if my bass can drone on and on.
For each bass kick I just like to feel like I've been punched in the chest.
I'm not sure if my system is just not capable of producing this kind of output on a consistent basis, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris.

Have you checked your speaker settings? Ensure bass re-direction is off. Also there should be a bass / sub control on the speakers. Where have you placed the sub? If in the middle of the room, try placing it against a corner / wall. Other than that generally logitech speakers are supposed to have big boomy bass.
