Hey all I've just started to have a look at flac since my harddrive is big enough not to worry about disc space. I'm just wondering what's the quickest method of converting flacs to oggs (for portable player)? I really dont want to decode them back into wav but if there's no other way....

Cheers

The Lancer suite ( see here )

Drag & drop the flac onto OggDropXPd, or use oggenc2 command line (provide your own flac.exe to decode).
Firon
foobar2000, using the lancer DLLs for faster encoding.

Thanks I'l test out the lancer suite. I was a bit hesitant at first but i guess I have no choice tongue.gif. Btw, the links to download oggdropxp on http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...nded_Ogg_Vorbis don't work at all.

Thanks again

Meep? sad.gif Checking...

In the meantime, go to http://www.rarewares.org/ogg.html.

Edit 1: Lancer suite's OggDropXPd can be downloaded from The Ogg Vorbis Acceleration Project

Edit 2: Yay! Fixed. smile.gif

Edit 3: Also added direct-download-link for Lancer's OggDropXPd.
