Full Version: MAX lame setting question
is transparent equivalent to -V 2 --vbr-new? because i noticed that max doesn't let you use a custom commandline, just the included presets. also, why is it significantly slower at converting flac to mp3 than it is with iTunes-LAME for ripping a cd to mp3? thanks

Yes, it's -V 2 --vbr-new. Haven't noticed it being slow here, but it might be because it first has to decode the FLACs?
Looking through Max' source code I found this in MP3SettingsSheet.m:
Which pretty much verify that its using "-V2 --vbr-new" for its Transparent setting.

I have been using Max since the first day I found it. While I previously used cdparanoia
are ripping speeds decent with error correction and a combo drive (matishiba or something)?
