I just reverted to Winamp 2.81 lite (because version 3 crashes constantly) , only to find my ogg files not supported by the default Winamp install. Searching for the vorbis decoder on Winamp indicates the plugin has been removed:
Vorbis plugin pageI can find the plugin elsewhere, but what's going on with Winamp? Have they changed their minds on Vorbis support?

vorbis support is NOT included with lite version. install v2.81 standard instead. or click the link above.
Mmm, but why does it appear they've removed the vorbis plug-in page?

i've never seen a vorbis plugin page.
"they" removed "vorbis plugin page" because "vorbis plugin" is now included with standard winamp setup. have you ever seen a dedicated winamp.com page for MP3 plugin ?
since is completelely uninstalled winamp and re-installed it never had any touble with it again.

Don't use Winamp, it blows goats when it comes to vorbis. I can't even get my .ogg's to show up in the media library, or edit the tags. I use Quintessential, which has the best vorbis support.
winamp3 blows goats when it comes to vorbis indeed, mostly because someone couldn't be arsed to write proper documentation how to make decent infobox.

I have no real clue what you mean here, but why wasn't the Winamp3 info editor for Ogg Vorbis just designed like the one in in_vorbis? It works wonderfully. If it violates any Vorbis specifications or recommendations, I bet you would have been informed by now.

(I know ReplayGain support is totally unofficial, but apart from that...)
the problem is, wa3 uses totally different architecture for infoboxes, you can't put a generic win32 dialog there. documentation for infobox XML is SNAFU; they could do a nice mp3 infobox because they knew all specifications, etc and had access to sourcecode; while i had to do the same, but without being able to see the sourcecode. i'm not touching it again anyway, wa3 has working vorbis decoder with proper tag updater, UI design is their problem.
also, i dont think making decent clone of wa2 infobox in wa3 is possible, at least within current specs.

The Winamp 2.81 Standard comes with an old version of the Ogg Vorbis decoder. I grabbed a newer version of it the other day at the above link because the newer version supports ReplayGain. Also, I still cannot understand why Winamp has already switched to Winamp3, when all the Winamp2 plugins are still present and there are still glaring feature descrepancies between Winamp2 and Winamp3...last time I checked, Winamp3 STILL does not support ID3v2 tags. That makes no sense.
