Hi!
Could somebody give me an answer if a VA-Album is correctly tagged this way?

QUOTE
ALBUM: Alternative Times Vol 72
ARTIST: Taking Back Sunday
ALBUM ARTIST: Various Artists
TITLE: Make Damn Sure

I read some parts of the wiki today. And I think somewhere I stumbled upon "TITLE ARTIST". Can somebody tell me, what it is for?

Have a good night!

Yeah, I've never worked out a decent way to do this, at all :/

And whats the best way to handle it in your formatting string, if you use multirow info?

It looks like you did that correctly, according to the encouraged tag standard article.

What you might have seen was "%track artist%" which is a remapped field in 0.9. From the wiki page:

QUOTE
%track artist%

Defined as $meta(artist), if $meta(album artist) is different than $meta(artist), otherwise this field is empty.

I use VARIOUS = 1.

thats exactly the foobar=good=correct way.
Various=1 might work as well, but most .fcs are built around the ALBUM ARTIST tag to be present for VA-Album detection. furthermore you can specify something other than "Various Artists" (e.g. the band supporting) and have it displayed, so more info without any additional tags.

Why isn’t ALBUM ARTIST available by default in Foobars tag list?

I’ve been using the COMPILATION tag.

Full albums = no special tag
VA/Soundtracks = COMPILATION tag
Singles = COMPILATION tagged as Single

My formatting string Here.

I use %album artist% in the artist/album collumn. And in the title collumn I check for $meta(album artist) and if it's there, I print the artist behind the track title

Thank you. I tagged it in best believe, after heaving read the encouraged tag-standards. But I wasn't sure, if I understood everything correctly! (.. since I seem to have a problem with submitting such a song to foosic (see foosic-thread))

Thanks to all of you for your quick replies!
