Very happy to see some more usable crossfading and fade on stop features in v.92. A few suggestions for the next version:

a) True crossfading between tracks. Level dependent rather than time dependent. ie. Crossfade tracks when level reaches -x dB. Should be calculated post ReplayGain and other volume adjustments. Likewise, when advancing or skipping tracks, it would be nice to allow the current track to die down 3-6 dB before starting the next track so as to allow the former to 'get out of the way'.

b) Adjustable slope fades. Linear vs. Logarithmic. The current linear fade drops out a little too abruptly at the end for my taste.

c) Automatic buffer adjustment according to crossfade settings. For example, if your crossfade / fade on stop settings are set to 5000ms, then the buffer setting on Preferences>Playback>Output would adjust automatically to 5000ms.

I am eagerly awaiting the day I can ditch my old Winamp 2.81 / SQR Crossfading combo for event playback and switch exclusively to Foobar.

Foobar continues to astonish and amaze me. Many, many thanks to Peter and the other developers.

I thought of one more thing after I went to bed last night:

d) The option to use crossfade parameters in the disk writer / make CD process. I've been using the SQR diskwriter for years now but it only works well if you render the file as a single .wav. Multiple .wavs will often lead to clicks on track transitions.

Thanks again.
