how do i make my playlist sort by track number, other than just clicking it everytime? when i open up an album (using browser btw), it's often in a random order, and i have to click the "#" column to organize it by tack number. i see the "sort" tab in the playlist view setup, but how do i use it?

thanks much

The playlist foo_browser uses is sorted by file path, so if you open up an album, the files must be named according to the order they appear on the album.

The sort tab in the playlist view setup specifies what sorting criteria is used when clicking on a column's header. Standard sorting is alphabetical, which is enough for most cases.

AFAIK there is no way you can auto-sort a dynamic (meaning "non-auto-") playlist.

I think foo_browser uses the general sort criteria for incoming files (->preferences).

Hey, you're right. I stand corrected.

so there's no way i can get IPB Image to autosort by track number upon opening? what about the preferences->playlist view->columns->sort thing? i'm pretty sure that would do it. the question is: how in the hell do i use it?

i mean, it's pretty clear that right now it's sorting by track title, so couldn't i somehow make it just sort by track number instead? it would be perfect if if would sort by album, then by track number (like most other audio players)

Did you even read our replies?

foo_browser sorts by the general sorting scheme (Preferences -> General -> Sort incoming files by), as Birk said. Change that to "%album% %tracknumber%" for your needs. And the Sort tab in the Columns UI Playlist configuration specifies how the column header click sorting (what you already did by clicking on the tracknumber column header) works, as I said.
