I was using CDex before I made the move over to EAC and the tagging was fine. But i've found I can't get rid of the DESCRIPTION=Exact Audio Copy inside EAC. I know I can delete it in Winamp or I can use Winvorbis but couldn't I just disable it in EAC.

I add my own comments and that works fine using

-c "Compression=Ogg Vorbis v1.0 -q 6" -c "Ripper=EAC v0.9b4 - Secure mode"

but I just want to get rid of that damn DESCRIPTION=Exact Audio Copy

Thanks for your help. biggrin.gif

Btw, the reason I posted in here is because it only seems to effect OGG tags, so I thought this was the most appropriate thread.

Use the "User Defined Encoder" option, and enter this into the commandline field (adjust the quality level to your need):

-q 6 -c "TITLE=%t" -c "ARTIST=%a" -c "ALBUM=%g" -c "TRACKNUMBER=%n" -c "DATE=%y" -c "GENRE=%m" %s %d

The reason I specified -c "TITLE=%t" etc. instead of just using -t "%t" is that the latter method writes the field names in lowercase, while Winamp, WinVorbis etc. only allow adding uppercase field names.

That's were I was going wrong. Thanks for your insight.

Personally, I think the "DESCRIPTION=Exact Audio Copy" tag isn't such a bad idea. That way you will instantly know which ripper was used, and the best one out there at that.

Sure, you can mess up rips easily by using the wrong parameters, but I believe if you take the time to find out about EAC you'll probably also take care of which options you are using.

If sometime in the future I download some OGGs that have that tag, I'll be one happy camper biggrin.gif (unless. of course, someone was using -q 0 *shiver*)
