Full Version: Modified mp3infp v2.52

mp3infp is a Windows Explorer extension for viewing/editing tags in a number of different audio file formats.

The original current version can be found here.

In the original version, APEv2 tag item keys are case sensitive. So "ALBUM" or "album" would not be recognized, only "Album". In this modified version, the item keys are case insensitive.

The zip file includes a modified .dll and also a .cpl file with some minor text changes/corrections. It also includes install.bat which can be run from a command window and *should* replace the existing files with the new ones. (Use install.bat at your own risk. You should do a fresh reboot and make sure all Explorer windows are closed before running it. Maybe someone else can come up with a real installer. blink.gif )

Please see this topic for more details.

Hi,

Do you think you could hack it a little bit more so it could support Musepack files as well?
Since it support ape tags, it should be possible?

At the moment I have to change the extension from mpc to ape if I want to add tags to the musepack files, but it is not convenient for some reasons, you know smile.gif

Cheers,
Tony

I notified original author of this.
He is going to incorporate this feature into next release.

Thanks haregoo. I also tried contacting the author but I never received any reply. I might not have used the right email address. I'd really like to send him the updated source files. (While it only took a few changes to the source code, I also changed the resource file to correct some typos and change the wording of some of the English text.) Can you send me a PM with the email address you used? Or I could send you the changed files and have you forward them to him?

The source code could probably be modified to support Musepack files but I'm not sure how easy that would be. I will look into it. In the meantime, if all you want is to be able to add/change the tags, have you tried using something like Mp3tag ? I believe it already supports Musepack files.

I used his own forum to get in touch with him.

E-mail address is at the bottom of web site(small png image).
It's likely that spam filter delete your e-mail, even if you use right address.

If you upload updated files to somewhere, I will let him know about files.

Hi kmart

I was the poster that requested you to upload a copy of your hacked version of mp3infp. I have been travelling the last couple of days and just could not find the time to check HA. Just noticed today that you have uploaded it. Thanks a lot for the same smile.gif

Best regards,
