Full Version: How do have EAC only send Lame commandline options?

I am trying to use EAC to rip a set of cds for me, and its the first time I've used EAC to get the whole job done. Before I would save uncompressed and use razorlame as the lame front end. In razorlame, there is an option to "only use custom options" and it would encode via the command line parameters.

In EAC, I see you can add command line params, but there are also preset bitrates and stereo modes. When I add a command line parameter "--preset voice" Lame follows it, but uses 128bit as well.

How can I block this? I only want the ID3 tags, and custom parameters to be sent to Lame.

Thanks

"8. In the Bit rate drop-down menu select a bit rate closest to the setting you are using with your audio encoder.

This bit rate option has no effect on the bit rate of your encoded audio files. When Parameter Passing Scheme is set to "User Defined Encoder", this setting is merely used by EAC to estimate file sizes in the main EAC window."

From the "Setting Compression Options" section of this guide:

see: "# Setting up EAC for LAME.exe with tagging:"

replace "-V 2 --vbr-new" with "--preset voice"

(The EAC log might still say encoding is set to 128 kbps (or whatever), but if you followed the directions for using an external compressor, you can ignore that.)

A guide is also in the Wiki
