Hello,

I'm trying to make foobar work like this: whether i double-click a song/album in playlist tree, database search, album list or whatever, I want it to be added to my "default" playlist and start playing immediately.

At this moment you can add music to a specified playlist from the context menu, but you cannot specify a playlist and then create a function to always send it to that same playlist. Hence, you cannot create a keyboard shortcut to add music to that specific playlist, or create a double-click event in playlist tree to always send it to that specific playlist.

Or can you? Is it a missing feature or am I missing something?

Not quite... this only works for files that you add from the command-line or windows explorer.

I found that it's possible to add files to a certain playlist with a keyboard shortcut, you can point the shortcut directly to Edit Other -> Add to playlist -> NameOfPlaylist

The fact is that you cannot make this last step with Playlist Tree, I'll post the question in the Playlist Tree thread.

I do something similar for double clicking in browser and playlist tree. I set the double click operation in both to "Playlist Tree/Play in Library Playlist", and set the library playlist to "%_name%" and check "Rename last library playlist when sending"

Well, I did toy a bit with the library playlist, but my 2 main problems with this are a) it immediatly deletes eveything else in the playlist and b) It doesn't start playing automatically

An "Add to Library playlist and play" function would be ideal

Play in Library playlist should automatically play the item.

I agree with this, except I would like if you could specify a playlist other than the Library Playlist. My issue is that I use the library playlist like a browser for Playlist tree, so when I select a folder it shows in the Library Playlist, I would then like to double click the item to add it to another playlist... I don't necessarily want it to play right away though... I think the best option would be to have a setting in Playlist Tree that interacts with the foo_utils component. Basically, you would be able to define the "specified playlist" in playlist tree for the following commands:

Add to Specified Playlist
Add to Specified Playlist and Play
Highlight in Specified Playlist
Insert into Specified Playlist
Insert into Specified Playlist and Play
Remove from Specified Playlist
Send to Specified Playlist
Send to Specified Playlist and Play
