hello hydrogenaudio,

first of all, this is my first post and my english is not so good. my apologies.

I would really like to see someone porting ML_SONY to foobar as a component.
Basicaly, "Ml_sony is a plugin for winamp to support sony's network players. This plugin is able to send and extract mp3 from the player." (from sourceforge).
It's still in an early stage of development but i'm sure i'm not the only one who would be interesting in this plugin.

here's the official ML_SONY topic: http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1528

and the homepage at sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mlsony

anyone?

I would love to have this ported too, I don't really like CP/SS.

And I prefer foobar2000 over Winamp5.

Interesting, didn't know that any 3rd-party Software for Sony players exists.

From the forums I see there is also "GYM" - get your music, which I find more interesting than having to install Winamp first (just checked screenshots). Any pros/cons for mlsony vs. GYM?

ok, some update on this request...
someone coded a program called 'SWEX' based on the ml_sony winamp plugin.
here's the developer msg on ATRACLife forum (http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?...1528&st=220):

"Hi everyone.

I have made a little program that works just like windows explorer, well I'm not there yet, but I will try to come there. For now you can downlaod and upload MP3 files to/from your sony walkman with drag and drop I hope, downloading from sony must be in this program, but you can upload from windows explorer, have just tested it on the "bean". So if anyone is interested in this software please be welcome to test it."

The developer (Juppe) seems to update it quickly.

Maybe it could be a start to someone interested in porting this thing to foobar?

+1 for ml_sony port.
There's a program that I use made in Java (http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2178) which is open source as well and can provide info on how to play songs from it, at least.

Thanks!

The problem is that players that have their library built with these 3rd party programs are unrecognizable by SonicStage unless formatted. While I would be normally using said 3rd party programs, occassionally, use of SonicStage could be warranted.

So?
SonicStage is something that should not be used. It's just bloat.

I myself would stick foobar in my mp3 player if it could reproduce its musics!
