Full Version: What happens when FLAC fails verification?

Hi everyone,

I'm using EAC to compress some of my Audio CDs into FLAC files. I've added the -V parameter to verify the compression, but EAC closes the window so quickly that I'm unable to see any message regarding verification.

What would happen if FLAC failed verification during encoding? Would it halt the compression? Would it pause and ask for confirmation?

Also, I've tried to add the ">>logfile.txt" parameter in EAC to save the output, but it doesn't save anything.

Is it possible to obtain a log file of the results? If so, how???

The -V setting is completely useless to me if I can't write a log file to check the result sad.gif

Kind regards.

If the verification process fails during encoding, then flac.exe will exit with a non-zero exit code while displaying a warning message about not to use the bad file and how to submit a bug report. The partially encoded file will be left so it can be included in the bug report.

EAC can be set to show a warning message whenever an external encoder exits with a non-zero exit code by enabling the following option : Compression Options | External Compression | Check for external programs return code.

Ah! I hadn't seen that option. It does exactly what I need. Thank you very much!

Regards.
