I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to get my sound files into surround using Acid and my Audigy 2 ZS card. I keep getting different errors such as "device does not support sample rate or bit depth" and "request is not enabled for this device". I can only get center speaker playback, and ONLY if ai select MS sound mapper.

I am running XP MCE (SP2) and have a Creative GigaWorks S750 sound system. As far as I understand I have the latest drivers for the A2ZS also.

PLEASE help! sad.gif

The "latest" drivers aren't always the best for the A2ZS. Suggest you completely and thoroughly
uninstall all creative drivers/mediasource etc and start from scratch with the original install CD.
I've had to do that several times, and now currently the original stuff is ALL I'm using to record
NEO6: DTS to disc.
I especially had problems with the DVD-Audio player with the newer software.

Depending how u got SP2 (full direct download, Windows Update, or CD) and the order u installed everything uīll get issues with the newest drivers.
I personally install SP1 first from scratch, then load SP2, and then install from the Audigy 2 ZS CD to finally update with the web drivers. Itīs kinda weird but it "acts" as if SP2 installed over installed updated Audigy drivers doesnīt properly manages the update. But if u instead install the drivers over an installed SP2, the drivers properly "connects" (donīt quote me on this) to SP2.
ON the other hand, u need to know that if uīre using ASIO with your Audigy, then u have 3 possibilities: Creative ASIO: supports only 48kHz 16bits but up to 8-ch (input/output), SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [C000]: same as Creative ASIO, and SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 [C000]: wich supports only 2-ch 96kHz 24bits. In all 3 options, the bitdepth CAN be below the given one (i.e. 96kHz 16bits 2-ch). If u use parameters others than these, uīll get the "device doesnīt support...".
To have multichannel (up to 6-ch) support (output, not ASIO input) for free kHz and bitdepth u might want to use Direct Sound Surround Mapper. Use SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO if u plan to get multichannel recording, and use Direct Sound Surround Mapper if u intend to use multichannel output (up to 6-ch) with free parameters range (i.e. 6-ch 48kHz 24bits).
I recommend u to try this before touching the drivers, cause if u do and something gets screwed in the process, nothing, and i mean nothing, will get the drivers to properly install everything but complete reinstallation of the system from scratch.
Good luck.
