Full Version: Impact of the end of freedb on foo_freedb2
The end of the freedb project in the foreseeable future (1, 2) reduces my motivation to further spend time on improving foo_freedb2. foobar2000 0.9.3 will have support for retrieving tags for audio CDs directly from the ripping dialog, the current development version of foo_freedb2 already supports this and will be released when foobar2000 0.9.3 is available. However, plans for other features like codepage conversion, character case normalization, etc. will be abandoned or at least delayed. Instead, I intend to spend some time to get a foosic based tagging component ready.
