How to make foobar able to read non-unicode ID3 tag?
I have some mp3s have non-unicode ID3(maybe it's unicode, but I assuming it's not), which could not displayed correctly. The words are like all messed up. They are Chinese and Japanese words. How to set foobar to be able to read different coding ID3? I do have Chinese and Japanese fonts installed. Browsing those websites are all fine.

I do not want to change my system language, cuz those mp3s are not only one language. I understand if I change system language, then I am able to read those words. But I really need to be set as English for some reasons.

You can use foo_masstag_codepage and try to correct those tags.

You can also try changing the font in foobar to one that supports CJK text, such as Tahoma.

This is the preferred method imo(& is what I did, it doesn't take that long when you do it in mass)

This is needed if his font display squares for CJK charas... But it doesn't. They show up as @#$32987223$@#$@;a;dsu3 .... so it's obviously a code page problem.

You can also try re-tagging with freedb. A lot of asian albums already exist on freedb.

Anyone know how to retagging from freedb? I saw the tagging menu, but does not see from freedb.

And does anyone know how to correct the problem with foo_masstag_codepage

thanks.

Will only these CJK supporting fonts show the correct characters? I have a few songs that shows the correct characters using the Tahoma font as suggested, but I cannot get them to show correctly even after changing the codepage if I'm using a different font like Calibri.

Changing font does not work for me. Do you know how to change codepage?
