I was just wondering what is better out of lame 3.97 beta2 and 3.98 alpha6. I was also wondering where i could find a list off all those command lines for 3.97 beta2.

3.97 Beta 2 is the current stable, and recommended version.

3.98 alpha versions are test versions, and are not recommended for mass encoding. While they could contain improvements, it is also possible they contain problems that are still being tested.

I think the answer jimmy was looking for, which is better from an ABX standpoint not recommended.

Jimmy, at this time, nobody has done a serious ABX of the new Lame 3.98a6 vs. Lame 3.97b2...yet.

Keep an eye out for it though as many mp3 users will undoubtedly want an answer to that question as well and someone is bound to test it eventually.
