Hi,

i convert a mp3 like this:

lame.exe -b 96 1.mp3 result.mp3

1.mp3 has an id3-tag, but result got no one, why?!

I know Lame can add those tags:

http://lame.sourceforge.net/doc/html/id3.html

But why does it remove them while converting?

If it does not write them to the destination file, it doesn't mean that it removes them. If you want to preserve tags, use foobar2000.

It don't means but it seams hm? wink.gif

I know foobar2000, but i need the lame.exe as background for an application (not possible with foobar2000).

So i must read out the id3-tags BEFORE i convert and send them as parameters to the lame.exe?

That is correct. LAME does not have ID3 tag reading capability. It also has very limited support for writing ID3... just the basic tags.

Please read before replying.

Foobar, and afaik, ALL2LAME and Multi Frontend (the latter two requiring TAG.EXE) should all be able to copy tags when transcosing/reencoding.
