I've been sticking to foobar 0.8.3 for the last few months for two reasons.. the foo_vis_vu_meter and foo_vis_simple_spectrum plugins haven't been updated for 0.9. The shame of it is, I know 0.9 is superior in many ways, and I would love to upgrade, but I just can't get past not having my trusty VU meter at the bottom of my screen.
So I would like to update the plugins for 0.9. I've downloaded the sources for the plugins in question and the 0.9 SDK. The trouble is I have no code writing or compiling experience whatsoever.
If anyone can give me a hint as to good software tools to use, or links to basic FAQs or tutorials, I'd be really grateful. I've googled, but I'm afraid most of what I found was over my head.
