Full Version: Help with EAC and FLAC

I'm trying to rip some discs using EAC and then have it compress them to FLAC. I followed Eli's FLAC & EAC guide here.

EAC works fine ripping the wav file. And it seems to call up FLAC alright. What happens is during the rip as EAC finishes each file, the FLAC window pops up for a split second (too fast for me to read anything) and that's it. No compression. And I end up with wav files instead of flac files in my rip directory.

I know there's not a lot to go on, but am I missing something obvious here? I've gone over the EAC settings a bunch of times, and I don't have any command line switches set for FLAC to eliminate any variables. If it would help I can post up some screenshots of my EAC settings.

Thanks for the help.

Just post your commandline, it sounds like FLAC is misconfigured and quits with an error.

What do you mean by post the command line? The odd thing is FLAC works fine (using the frontend) when I use it alone. It's when EAC tries to use flac.exe that it goes kaput.

LaserSokrates wants you to post the command line you use for flac.exe through EAC, it's in the compression options (hit F11).

You are using a command line aren't you?

Right, in the program path I've got the proper path for FLAC. I don't have anything in the "additional command line options" line. Is that what you're looking for?

Refer back to the guide you followed, or this one - http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=EAC_and_Flac

Notice the "Addtional command line options" string.

-5 : sets the compression level (-0=fastest, -8=highest compression)
-V : verify the encoding process
-T : begins the sequence of tagging options
%s : pipes the WAV file output from EAC to FLAC

Ah, it was the %s I was missing, thanks for the help.
