Full Version: EAC producing corrupt FLACs using Native CD drive interface?

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue:

Starting a few weeks ago, EAC has started producing corrupt FLACs when ripping with the native CD routines. I have since switched over to using the Nero ASPI DLL, it seems at this stage that this has solved the problem.

I have run diagnostics on the RAID disc that I save my FLAC files to but did not find any issues. It seems at this stage that somehow the native CD routines are corrupted, which is leading to unreliable reads.

My CD drive (LG4167) has always made a lot of noise when ripping, so I don't think the drive is the issue. But I just want to know if anyone else has had similar problems when using the Native Win32 drive interface?

Woah... It doesn't seem to be an ASPI issue, it seems to be a problem caused by using Test & Copy. If I just do a regular compress tracks, then I can't repeat the error...

Is this a sign that my drive is on the way out? I wouldn't be totally surprised, I've ripped about 500 CDs with it.
