Full Version: Nero AAC vs. Lame MP3

I am wondering about jumping from Lame MP3 to Nero AAC which seem the best available solution for quality lossy encoding.

I am used with Lame settings, but when it comes to AAC, it's kinda confusing. So I thought it would be great to have a table showing which Lame preset is "equal" to Nero AAC preset.

(Sorry if I don't make sense, AAC is really confusing me.)

What lame preset were you using? If it is anything around V5 or higher quality, it probably won't make a lot of sense to switch unless for hardware support.

AFAIK there are no tables for equal presets between Lame and Nero AAC.

Thanks for the link.
Coupled with the MP3 page, I did another reading, and I think I begin to get the grip of this. Guess it was all about mind blocking. ^^;

Edit : changed "listening" for "reading". Some habits are hard to go away. ;-)
