Hi!

Original message posted here: http://www.iasca.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11272#post11272

I live in Lipetsk, Russia. In July 29 there were IASCA Russia competitions: http://www.iascarussia.ru/news/?id=93 . IASCA Russia solds "IASCA Official Sound Quality Reference Disk"s at that competitions, those with IASCA judge the participants. One of those disk was bought by me. At this competitions i noted that IASCA disks sound worse that participants disks and at steadfast studying at home i discovered that "IASCA Official Sound Quality Reference Disk" was stamped from mp3 source, and even not the good mp3!!! Also this disk has DCP flag. It is 100% true, it is easy to understand when you see on signal spectrogram from this disk. If you need some proof i ready to give it.

The spectrogram from typical mp3 source from IASCA disk:

For pics as big as this, next time please use imageshack.

I'm sure in a few hours mods will descend upon you and delete those pics.

Those pics are about 7KB and 1024 wide. I don't think thats really a problem unless you have a very slow connection or small monitor.

People in 1024x768 resolution and below (80% of the web) will have to scroll to display these pictures.

The quote I read is that "most users are using 1024x768 or more", not "or less". I found the plots informative.

laugh.gif That is pretty funny. It makes me wonder what mp3 encoder was used.

Don't use imageshack at all, ever. Unless you want your images to disappear in very short order. Find another host. paintedover.com, flickr, livejournal (if you have a paid one), and a hundred other places exist.

Yeah, let's discuss ImageShack or the size of the pics! So much significance in it!

After checking up on what the IASCA site is about, I think a discussion about the image size and hosting is more significant than trying to figure out if an MP3 sourced CD is appropriate in an "how loud can your car stereo get" competition. smile.gif
