Full Version: "Move, copy or rename files" UI could be better

I'm talking about the "move, copy or rename files" (masstagger component) dialog window.

There's an edit button. After clicking it, another window opens with all file naming schemes and a preview. This is a useless window. Everything could be done better, because now we have to click too much just because to edit a naming scheme. The way is too long.

The "Add, remove" buttons in the file naming scheme window could go to upper level, so we'd have in the main window:

CODE
Output file name format:
[the formats name                          ] [edit] [add] [remove]

There's enough room for the 3 buttons to be right beside the dropdown. So we'd have all functionality on top level. There's the big preview window below it, so we do not lose anything.

None of the developers answered up to now.

Not a problem if a developer doesn't answer, as long as they implement my suggested changes wink.gif

There are/were some unnecessary longs ways, which partly have been killed. E.g. the converter. It is now much easier to use, shorter ways to quickly change a codec than before in 0.91.

Just some thoughts optimizing the UI and handling :

1. linking the scrolling for both lists - preview & files to process - would be usefull. As checkbox (well, another one) or by pressing ctrl or shift (e.g.) while scrolling one list.

2. different backgrounds (white and light-grey) for odd and even list-items (std or adv.options)

3. "move, copy..."-scripts in context-menu (like 'manage scripts for tagging) (was mentioned somewhere before)
