Can anyone help a confused african? I have been using itunes to orgainse my music folders. So I have everything in Artist folders on my hardrive. I have album art for everything as well as evrything being tagged.

Now I have bought a media centre pc.

My problem is that I need to reorganise the the music collection into album folders on the hard drive otherwise WMP will display an album cover for each song in a compilation.

IE:

I have a compilation album with 12 different artists. I get 12 identical Album covers displayed.

I'm not 100% sure what your problem is... but I'll guess. Setting "Album Artist" for all tracks on albums with multiple artists will allow correct grouping. You can use WMP 10 or 11 beta to set it. A mix album or compilation should have an Album Artist of (for example) "Various Artists", "Thievery Corporation", or "Original Soundtrack." This allows you to find/browse content via Album Artist, or (Contributing) Artist.

In the MCE world, it's probably best to always have Album Artist defined for all tracks. You can do this fairly quickly in WMP or other tagging applications.

Now, if this isn't your issue... explain exactly what you are seeing.

And thanks for the reply. My problem is solved! Except I used music bridge to hopefully move all my album art - and I still have blanks throughout the collection. I guess I'll have to manually apply this cover art again?
