MPEG-2 AAC files are not affected. The files created by aacenc_mpeg4 are affected.
I guess changing them to MP4 is the best option. Keep a copy of the current mp4creator, because those guys will probably change to the new standard as well.
OK, this already sounds less dramatic than before, because I don't think that there are many users of AACENC_MPEG4 with complete CD archives in AAC format who will miss these news and wonder why their files won't play with a newer in_mp4.dll. And judging from the reports here on the forum those people will probably appreciate the batch solution that Speek has built into his GUI. By the way, Ivan wrote that you can always extract a MPEG-2 AAC version from a MP4 file for those hardware players, is this also your opinion and how would that work, with in_m4.dll and/or mp4creator?

We are definately planning on asking some clarification from the MPEG. This looks a lot like a screwover action form a certain company.
Hmm, why should "they" screw someone and whom? Maybe the MPEG-4 working group has never heard about PsyTEL's MPEG-4 version of AACEnc and just wants to make sure that all existing MPEG-2 AAC hardware players will be able to play AAC files in the future... What I can't understand is that Nero's decoder isn't able to play AAC files produced with PsyTEL. Can it at least play its own AAC Files created with the built-in option?
