I was using lame in conjunction with EAC last night and it was ripping just fine. All of a sudden Lame does not work at all. I rienstalled lame and EAC and used jiggafellz guide to reset the proper setting and nothing. I am sure all of my setting are correct becuase they worked last night. I was wondering if anybody has ever had this problem? If you can help I would be forever grateful.

If you are sure it is LAME install a fresh copy from a safe site. Otherwise it has to be at your end. Review your installation and its settings. If you want help from this source you had better tell us how it is installed and what switches. We can be helpful but are just awful at guessing what you are doing. cool.gif

O.k

Here is the line command I used -V 0 --vbr-new --add-id3v2 --pad-id3v2 --ta "%a" --tt "%t" --tg "%m" --tl "%g" --ty "%y" --tn "%n" %s %d

Lame is installed in the EAC folder. I installed the recommended version of EAC and Lame'

When Eac transfers the file to lame the window comes up for a second then eac says that every thing was compressed etc. then I go to the folder and all there is is a wave file.

Your settings seem fine and you say they worked yeserday, so I think that it may be a problem with lame's tagging, it could be that the album you are trying to rip now has a non-standard ID3 genre, try adding "--ignore-tag-errors" to your command line and see if it works.

The command line should look like this:

-V 0 --vbr-new --ignore-tag-errors --add-id3v2 --pad-id3v2 --ta "%a" --tt "%t" --tg "%m" --tl "%g" --ty "%y" --tn "%n" %s %d

Yeah that worked great! But I have a question. The cd's I was ripping last night, I changed the info in the top right corner of EAC, and then cd's I ripped fine before stopped working. Do you think that I changed something permanatley in the EAC options. If so do you have any idea what it is? i'd rather not add this part of the command line option to all my saved profiles. and when I add the "ignore id errors" to the command line what changes in the id tag?

Hey you guys are the best you are allways willing to help, and I appreciate that greatly biggrin.gif

Here is the id window in eac, maybe something is wrong there?
